Get the data off the equipment and into your systems.
Western Ascent gets data off remote equipment and sites and into the systems an operation already runs: telemetry, data acquisition, and the remote wireless or Starlink links that carry it. John led the teams that brought 2 GW+ of utility-scale PV power electronics onto telemetry and control systems, central and remote.

What we do
- 01
Telemetry from field equipment
decide what to collect, from which devices, and how often, so the data answers a real operating question.
- 02
Data acquisition at the edge
the software and edge devices that read the equipment and keep data moving when the link is thin or drops.
- 03
Getting it off site
remote wireless and Starlink links, designed and set up on the Connected sites side.
- 04
Into your stack
data lands in your SCADA, historian, or dashboard, clean and timestamped, not as a folder of files.
Field data vs. Connected sites
Connected sites is the link and its security. Field data is what travels over it: which data, from which equipment, and where it lands.
Aerial capture: in development
Western Ascent is building an aerial capture service. It isn't offered yet, and there is no aerial work to show. This page will say so when that changes.
FAQ
- Do you do drone or aerial work?
- Not today. Aerial capture is a service Western Ascent is developing, and it isn't offered yet. Field data work today means telemetry and data acquisition from remote equipment and sites.
- Do you do land surveys or mapping?
- No. Western Ascent doesn't offer surveying or mapping. Boundary or legal survey work requires a licensed surveyor.
- How is this different from Connected sites?
- Connected sites covers the link and its security. Field data covers the data itself: what to collect, getting it off the equipment, and landing it in your systems. Most jobs use both.
